What is public Administrationis a multidisciplinary academic field which broadly studies the development, implementation and government policies.
As Per Prof. Woodrow Wilson, “Public Administration is a detailed and systematic application of law.”
The objectives of public administration are related to the democratic values of improving equality, justice, security, efficiency and effectiveness of public services.  Public administration as an interdisciplinary discipline draws on theories and concepts from economics, political science, sociology, administrative law, management, and a range of related fields.

Details of Public administration – It is a relatively new field which emerged in the19th century. Every government around the world are facing certain challenges like globalization, liberalization, economic competition that cuts across national borders, social and political upheavals, technological changes, threats of terrorism, and a rapidly-changing labour market. These challenges could only be met by capacity building through people and institutions.
It is only people who are at the heart of performance; they provide services, promote innovations, and carry out reforms through the best use of their knowledge and skills. Thus, the job of a public administrator in any nation has become very crucial and his role indispensable.
In order to have good governance, there is a huge requirement of specialized and skilled public administrator.

  • Public administration is the art and science of management of affairs in government, business and all enterprises to attain organization goals. It is a tool in the hands of administrators to achieve optimum utilization of manpower, equipment and resources.
  • Role and Importance of Public Administration - In today’s modern state and in developing countries functions and role of Public Administration is very important. The role and importance of Public Administration are as follows.

In this context public administration provides a number of welfare and social security services to the people. Besides, it has to manage government owned industries and regulate private industries. Course Details - The Bachelor of Arts in Public administration is introduced as an undergraduate degree course that can be completed in three years. The course study involves the activities and the functions that are carried on in the public services, constitutional framework, public sector organizations and theories of administration. The course teaches the students the concept of political system in the country and helps students get aware of the democratic functions in the country that can help them to analyze the effects of public policies that are introduced by the government.
